KFC Motivates Consumers to Try New Kentucky Grilled Chicken with $50,000 Online Sweepstakes

KFC’s product launch of Kentucky Grilled Chicken was a huge success for the Chicago Designated Market Area (DMA). Over 140,000 game pieces were distributed to 141 stores and 100,000 were hand distributed by Chicago’s street team. The “Kentucky Fried Chicken Unbelievable Unthink Sweepstakes” offered consumers free meals and the chance to win up to $50,000 online.

 

“The Chicago DMA wanted to make a big impact with the new product launch,” said a representative for KFC. “A Grill Sergeant and the Colonel joined the street team as they visited radio remotes and sporting events throughout 76 cities within three weeks hand delivering game pieces.  Consumers redeemed between 15 and 20% of those coupons.”

 

To play for $50,000, consumers visited www.gokfc.com and entered their prize code. They instantly received a message notifying them of the prize they won, ranging from $50 to $50,000 cash.
SCA not only handled the promotional risk, they also partnered with KFC’s agency on the game piece printing, contest site build and hosting, and creating the contest rules. “From hole-in-one contests to casino promotions, I have worked with SCA for over 15 years,” said a representative for KFC. “I can rely on my representative to help me execute a successful promotion for my client.  I can turn to SCA for all my promotion needs, soup to nuts!”
