Seeking to expand and strengthen ties with its Latin customer base, McDonalds recently launched the “Turn up the FIFA World Cup” sweepstakes, in partnership with SCA. The sweepstakes takes advantage of both the popularity soccer enjoys among the Latin community as well as the upcoming World Cup, taking place in South Africa in 2010.
Customers who visit McDonald’s Latin Web site, www.meencanta.com, are directed to the sweepstakes Web site, http://wcsweeps.com/en/sweepstakes, hosted by SCA. There, they enter basic demographic information as well as preferences for future correspondence. Customers are invited to enter once per day until January 15.
Three grand prize winners will be able to watch the World Cup on their new Sony Home Entertainment Systems, while other winners will take home Sony PSP 3000 game systems, adidas gift cards, and McDonald’s Arch cards.
SCA is not only hosting the promotion for McDonald’s, but assisted in the development, rules, and testing of the site. SCA is also providing McDonald’s with continued support throughout the sweepstakes timeframe and with metrics detailing sweepstakes entries.
