European Joint Venture Creates Promotions Powerhouse A new joint venture between SCA and Europes largest agency specializing in sports marketing, promotions and sponsorship will help position the partnership as the top sports promotion coverage firm in the world. The joint venture with ISPR, mbH (Internationale Sportrechte Verwertungsgesellschaft), based in Munich with Pan-European clients. The combined companies will form a company known as Sales Promotions & Solutions (SPS), GmbH & Co. KG. With ISPRs significant network and market presence in Europe, and with SCAs knowledge of promotions and the ability to cover large limit prizes, were creating a partnership that will rapidly bring to the market a series of products designed specifically for German speaking countries, said Thomas Floerchinger, chief operating officer of SCA. In addition, Michael Gott, director of business & administration for ISPR, and the acting managing director for SPS, said the joint venture was a positive development for ISPR because it will now allow SPS to offer a higher level of products and services. By taking SCAs extensive product offerings and combining that with ISPRs contacts and cultural knowledge, weve created a joint company that will be unmatched on the European promotions and prize coverage front, he said. SCA also has a majority shareholder stake in Euro Promotions, based in Stockholm, and the company recently acquired the UKs largest sales brokerage firm, PIMS, Ltd. In addition, the company has strategic alliances in South America, Mexico, Canada, Greece, and Spain - making it one of the most highly networked and globally immersed firms specializing in underwriting risks associated with promotional prize and redemption programs. Ultimately, this venture will allow our two companies to service the biggest promotional opportunities available anywhere in the world, said Floerchinger. This also continues the rollout of SCAs products in Europe, starting with EuroPromotion in 1998, the PIMS acquisition in 1999, and now the ISPR joint venture in 2000. |
