BILLIONAIRE CONTEST MAKES
GRAB.COM NO. 1
We applied our knowledge of games and contests to determine that it was indeed possible to offer this high a prize on an Internet contest. This puts SCA at the forefront of the promotions industry, since not everyone will be able to launch a contest of this magnitude without our expertise. But SCA applies the same professional experience to every promotional program we do, whether the prize is $10,000, $100,000, or even $1 billion, said Bob Hamman, SCA chairman and founder. This is just the kind of attention the new site was looking for, said Andrew Warner, president of Grab.com. We could ask players to do something extreme and that might get some attention, but it wouldnt necessarily get the participation we wanted. So we took a bold step instead: weve been offering the first $1 billion prize for our Internet game. SCA has the expertise to make it happen - they didnt see all those zeroes and say it couldnt be done. Instead, they worked hard to put together a package thats already making Internet history. To play the Grab.com $1 billion contest, entrants simply go to the Web site and pick seven numbers out of 77, and then complete the free entry registration form. Deloitte & Touche LLP will observe the drawing of the winning numbers for the $1 billion prize, which is underwritten by National Indemnity Company, a member of the Berkshire Hathaway group of companies. The winning numbers will be chosen at random on Dec. 29. If there is a winner, the worlds newest billionaire will be announced on Jan. 2, 2001. |
