SCA Promo Makes Wolfpack Web Site
a Howling Success |
Raleigh, NC - For the North Carolina State University Wolfpack, opening kickoffs dont just have the potential to rack up points they can also pay off in cars and cash for fans. Thats because the college team is running SCAs Kickoff Payoff promotion to drive traffic to its Web site. Pack fans register to play in advance online. If the team returns any opening half kickoff for a touchdown, one lucky fan wins $20,000 toward a brand-new Toyota vehicle. Any other kickoff that results in a touchdown is good for $500. Fans have already scored big with this promotion! On Saturday, August 31st one of the first games of the season, sophomore cornerback Lamont Reid made a 90-yard kickoff return against East Tennessee State. It was the first time the Pack has returned an opening kickoff for a score since 1961. It was also the first big win for the fans and Kickoff Payoff contestants. |
Longtime fan Pam Wilcher of Raleigh watched Reids play from her season ticket seats. Although she had registered to play, she was shocked by Wolfpack representative Bruce Webers call a few days later, announcing that shed won. She thought I was joking at first, recalls Weber. But with $20,000 to spend at local dealership Fred Anderson Toyota, Wilcher was quickly convinced. She chose a 2003 Camry and paid for only the expense that exceeded her $20,000 prize. |
