Super Serial Payoff Pays Off
For Radio Station

Searcy, AR - Bells, whistles, and screams...these are the sounds alerting All Hit
107 Y FM KKSY listeners that it’s time to try and win over $10,000! SCA, KKSY, and First American Cash Advance partnered to bring local listeners the chance to win prizes, including the grand prize of $10,710. The name of the game was Y107 First American Cash Advance Super Serial Payoff. This exciting promotion really hooked Searcy residents on the radio station’s frequency, 107.1.

“More local businesses want to advertise with us because of the listenership base we now have,” says Kit Caldwell, Y107 station manager. He added that the promotion was “absolutely” successful.

Y107 ran the contest three times a day for over three weeks. When listeners heard the special sound, it was their signal to try and be caller number seven — the last number in Y107. The caller’s goal was to try and match the last four numbers of a $1 (USD)
bill’s serial number to the station’s preselected four-digit number. To further tie the contest into the station’s frequency, the serial number also had to end in seven.

SCA covered three levels of prizes for Y107. If all four numbers matched, SCA covered the grand prize and paid $10,710. If the first three numbers matched, SCA paid $1,071, and if the first two numbers matched, SCA paid $107.10.
The Super Serial Payoff created quite a buzz
in Searcy. Listeners even asked their bank tellers for $1 bills with serial numbers ending
in seven in hopes they would win the grand prize.

During the first full week of the promotion,
there were two lucky winners. One caller matched the first two numbers and won $107.10. But the big winner was caller Leah Roberson, who matched the grand prize winning numbers and won $10,710! Y107
was a winner, too, boosting its listenership during the contest. The promotion’s success even led the station to extend its run — with SCA covering the prizes.

“More local businesses want to advertise with us because of the listenership base we now have.”
Kit Caldwell
Y107 Station Manager
“Nobody in the last fifty years has done a contest like this and to have a winner was amazing,” says Caldwell.

According to Caldwell, the contest definitely met the station’s objectives of increasing listenership and providing sponsorship prizes so callers could win. For example, callers who were number seven and had a serial number that ended in seven automatically won $10.71 provided by First American Cash Advance.
