GSN'S POKER ROYALE:
THE WPPA CHAMPIONSHIP
Culminates With $10 Million
Poker Sweepstakes

Las Vegas, NV…GSN (formerly Game Show Network) offered one lucky viewer the chance to win big money this winter. POKER ROYALE: THE WPPA CHAMPIONSHIP finale was broadcast live at the Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas, culminating with the POKER ROYALE: $10 Million Poker Sweepstakes.

GSN's Poker Royale WPPA ChampionshipDuring the finale of the POKER ROYALE $10 Million Poker Sweepstakes, tournament
champion James Van Alstyne was partnered by telephone with a GSN home viewer who had entered and won the online sweepstakes. Van Alstyne played a hand of poker for the chance to split the $10 million prize with the GSN home viewer. Using SCA's Money Bags™, Van Alstyne was given 52 envelopes, each with a unique playing card inside. Van Alstyne selected five envelopes from the "deck" to see if he made a winning hand.

If he drew a full house or better, he and the home player would win the top prize - $5,000,000 each! Other cash prizes were available from GSN based on the poker hand. A three of a kind, straight or flush would win $25,000 each, two pairs would win $20,000 each, and a pair would win $15,000 each.

GSN turned to SCA Promotions to cover the mega cash giveaway and assume the risk of a payout. "GSN chose SCA because of their expertise in covering prizes of this high amount and their prior experience with casino related programs," said Kelly Bernstein, Director of Marketing and Promotions at GSN.

To enter the sweepstakes, viewers were invited to watch POKER ROYALE: THE WPPA CHAMPIONSHIP on GSN and then register at www.gsn.com when they saw the sweepstakes password flash on screen. A different password was presented six times during the promotion period. From the thousands of entries received, SCA randomly selected one viewer, M.M. Teal of Cumming, GA, as the grand prize winner.

Van Alystne was only two cards away from a flush when he drew an Ace of Hearts, nine of Hearts, and then a 10 of Hearts. The crowd's excitement grew with each card revealed.

His fourth card, a nine of spades, made a pair and won him and Teal $15,000 each. Sponsor Pizza Hut also awarded both players with a year's supply of "Full House" pizza.

Bottom Line
For a high-stakes, live television promotion, GSN turned to SCA for their expertise in mega-prize casino related programs.
