Chevrolet Offers a New Cobalt to New York Area Customers

New York City, NY - As Chevrolet introduced their newest small car, Chevy Cobalt, the New York Local Marketing Group (LMG) decided to have a bit of fun with the product launch and design an instant win online game encouraging traffic to www.chevyoffers.com.

To promote the Chevy Offers Web site, New York's LMG and its direct mail marketing firm, Aspen Marketing Services, turned to SCA Promotions for a custom online contest with the chance to instantly win a new Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged Coupe. SCA took the risk of a payout of the Cobalt, and SCAinteractive, an online division of SCA, assisted in the game development and hosting.

The direct mail marketing firm for the participating 118 dealers in the New York City area mailed targeted direct mail pieces to approximately 500,000 residents inviting them to "Crack The Cobalt Code." If a contestant correctly turned the four dials on the Cobalt's safe and cracked the code, he or she would win the brand new Cobalt SS Supercharged Coupe, valued at $21,995. Additional print ads were used to promote the sweepstakes.

"Nearly 10,000 people played the game during a four-month period," said a representative from Aspen Marketing Services. "A three percent response rate was amazing! The participating dealers received a record number of referrals and the download rate for the Cobalt brochures increased sixfold!"

Several dealerships achieved numerous leads and sales due to the promotion. "A large amount of Cobalts were sold within the promotion period," said a representative from Aspen.

On May 31, if a player does not crack the Cobalt code, one lucky player will be randomly selected to win an all-new Chevy Cobalt Sedan, provided by Chevrolet's New York LMG.

Plans are already underway for the next promotion, which will expand to include a larger targeted area and a baseball-themed online game.

"Working with SCA has been such a wonderful experience," said a representative from Aspen. "SCA provided fabulous service on a daily basis and really made the whole relationship more like a partnership. This promotion was like a hand-in-hand project between SCA and Aspen."
