Big Bucks Awarded at Texas Festival

Richardson, TX - Community Credit Union wanted to jazz things up during the Wildflower Arts and Music Festival with their "Big Bucks, Big Bucks, No Whammies" promotion. As the main stage sponsor at the heavily-attended event, they gained exposure and attracted a huge crowd to their booth by offering the chance to win two $10,000 grand prizes.

The key to the promotion was SCA's Visible Vault™, which was displayed at the Community Credit Union booth. Contestants had the chance to guess the six-digit combination to crack the Vault and take home the big prize.

A variety of Starbucks, Target, and Home Depot gift certificates were also randomly awarded to players as secondary prizes. During the festival, the promotion was advertised through various announcements, banners, and videos shown on the main stage.

During the third week of the event, Elizabeth Almodovar from Wylie keyed in her birthday, 05-23-80, and became the first $10,000 winner! Kim Miklis, Senior Communications Officer of Community Credit Union, couldn't have been happier.

"We were very excited to have a winner. Everyone was talking about it," she says. Once the Mayor had announced the big win on stage and excitement spread through word-of- mouth, more players rushed to the Vault to test their luck at the second $10,000 prize.

Besides having a winner, the promotion drew quite a crowd with nearly 7,000 attempts to crack the Vault. "We were hoping for 4,000 attempts," said Miklis, "so it definitely exceeded our expectations."

Almodovar, the 25-year-old winner, plans to use the prize money towards buying a house, and Miklis says she is very pleased with the added publicity. "We received a tremendous amount of exposure with the Visible Vault! We look forward to more exciting promotions in the future with SCA!"
