RaceTrac Increases Fountain Drink Sales with a “Cool”
Scratch-and-Win Game

Offline to Online Initiative Achieves 40,000 Online Entries


In its first ever nationwide scratch-and-win game, RaceTrac invited customers to cool off this summer with the “Cold Front 2007 Instant Win Game”. With the purchase of a 32 oz. fountain or frozen beverage, customers received an instant win game card. Every card revealed food prizes or great “cool” prizes,
including a car refrigerator, personal fan, and an 8-day Alaskan cruise for two.

“We were looking for a promotion partner that could help us execute a scratch-and-win game with an online component for our entire chain of 235 locations,” said a representative for RaceTrac.

“SCA did a great job outlining all the steps we needed to take, and they made sure we were protected and ran the contest correctly.”

Customers could also scratch a “Second Chance” area which revealed a unique code to be entered with their name and email address at www.racetrac.com/coldfront.

SCA worked with RaceTrac to provide a turnkey promotion providing services including the custom scratch card, rules, bonding and registration, and the online security to randomly award the various prizes after each PIN was entered online.

“RaceTrac achieved its promotional objective of creating excitement and driving incremental sales for our fountain and frozen drinks during the recent hot months,” said the representative. “We also received a huge online response – over 40,000 entries - with the second chance code.”
