Looking to leverage their sponsorship value, generate more leads, and ultimately sell vehicles, the Palm Beach Ford Dealers activated a giant wheel spin at SunFest 2009, one of the largest outdoor music and art festivals. Palm Beach Ford Dealers and their agency turned to SCA Promotions for promotional risk coverage of the grand prize, a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid – valued at $31,000.
“This is our third year running the ‘Ford Spin To Win Sweepstakes’,” said a representative for the dealer group. “The Wheel of Chance is easy to implement, ideal for JumboTron footage, and generates a tremendous amount of visibility for Ford.”
Over 18,000 contestants registered online and at Ford’s booth. Each night, four lucky contestants were invited to spin the wheel. The contestant who landed on the highest number each night became a grand prize finalist. On the final night, J. Ellis of Loxahatchee, FL spun the wheel and landed on a picture of the front of a Fusion Hybrid. After a second spin, she shocked the entire audience by landing on a picture of the back of the car, winning her a brand new Fusion Hybrid!
This promotion not only resulted in a winner, but Palm Beach Ford Dealers achieved 18,000 valuable leads, numerous car sales, publicity, and a way to give attendees a fun and interactive brand experience. All four grand prize finalists received a great summer weekend getaway package complete with a Ford vehicle rental.
