During the April 7th Chicago Bulls Game, Hinckley Springs® gave two fans the chance to shoot their way to a $1,000,000 dollar prize. The “2009 Hinckley Springs $1,000,000 Shot Clock Challenge,” was offered in conjunction with Jewel Food Stores, ESPN Radio 1000 and the Chicago Bulls.
“We wanted to offer an interactive promotion that would get people excited and talking,” notes Rick Friddle, Midwest Retail Sales Director for Hinckley Springs®. “Staying connected with our community and promoting fitness and proper hydration is a big part of our company mandate. What better way to do that than to partner with a sports team everyone loves, combine it with the chance to win a life-changing prize, and then give people the opportunity to share in the thrill and action.”
Over 4,000 entries were accepted online at the Bulls.com Web site, through on-air radio promotions, and at participating Jewel Food Stores. From the entries received, five finalists were selected to win lower level suite tickets to the Chicago Bulls Game and then face off in a mini contest to determine who would compete center court.Guaranteed cash prizes were awarded for being the lucky finalists.
To win the $1,000,000 dollar prize, the contestant had to make four consecutive shots: a Lay Up, a Free Throw, a Three Point shot and a Half Court Shot.
“The promotion was successful,” said Friddle. “Hinckley Springs® increased their incremental case sells through Jewel Food Stores as a result of the promotion and customers and contest participants were very enthusiastic.” |
