Golfsmith and Callaway Award $1 Million in Free Drivers to Customers
SCA Promotions Secures Golfsmith's Budget and Pays the $1 Million Prize
Austin, TX - Thousands of golf fans had an extra reason to cheer for Phil Mickelson at this year's Masters tournament held in Augusta, Georgia: the chance to win a free Callaway driver. Golfsmith, in collaboration with Callaway, turned to SCA to cover the cost of awarding the drivers.
Golfsmith customers were offered rebates on one of three Callaway drivers - the Diablo Edge, FT-Tour, or the FT-iZ - purchased between March 12 and April 7 if Mickelson won the tournament. Golfsmith turned to SCA to cover the cost of the clubs, valued between $299.99 and $399 each.
"A promotion like this helps differentiate us from the competition," said Matt Corey, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Golfsmith. "Phil Mickelson is the hottest player on tour and Callaway's new drivers are better than before. With this promotion exclusively at our stores, it was a great way to inspire golfers everywhere to root for Mickelson at this year's Masters."
SCA sent a check to Golfsmith to cover the cost of the rebates when Mickelson won. "Phil's win is great for the game and wonderful for Golfsmith and our valued retail and online customers," added Corey.
"We couldn't be happier that Phil claimed his third green jacket and that thousands of Golfsmith customers now will start off the season with a new Callaway driver, free of charge," said Corey.
