Insurance Brokerage Firm Awarded $10,000 to Winner at Charity Golf Tournament
Dallas, TX - McQueary, Henry, Bowles, and Troy (MHBT), an insurance brokerage firm, saw a huge turnout and a $10,000 winner at their annual fundraising golf tournament, benefitting the Ronald McDonald House and other charity clients.

“We wanted to create something different at the event, something that the golfers haven’t seen at other tournaments,” said a representative of MHBT. “We also wanted to keep the golfers around for the post party, where we acknowledge our sponsors and honor the charity organizations. The “Wall of Money” Money Bags-themed promotion seemed to be a perfect match for us.”

The “Wall of Money,” consisted of 100 prize envelopes posted inside the window of the clubhouse where the post party was held. As golfers made their way around the course, they came to a practice green that overlooked the clubhouse. Each golfer had the opportunity to try attempt one putt and get closest to the hole. At the post party, the five golfers who were closest had the opportunity to select one envelope from the “Wall.”

Art Sellinger, a sponsor of the  event, was the fifth to choose an envelope.  Upset that his first choice was already taken, he settled on #31, his daughter’s birth date. As the other envelopes were opened to reveal the non-winning messages, Sellinger opened his and was shocked to find the $10,000 message!

“It was the greatest reaction – neither of us could believe that he had won!” said the representative.

Sellinger plans to donate half the money to the Ronald McDonald House and to an Autism foundation. The other half will be accompanying him to Las Vegas.

“We had a 100% turnout at our post-round party, and we had a high rate of return for our invitations to the golf tournament thanks to the promotion”, said the representative. “I’ve been working with SCA for several years, and Todd is terrific. He always has new and creative ideas to keep our fundraisers fresh and exciting for the participants!”
