La Quinta “Bright Spot Challenge”
Looking to draw attention to the La Quinta brand and its promotion sponsors, the hotel chain teamed up with SCA to handle the administrative aspects of their sweepstakes, the Bright Spot Challenge. In a custom online game, consumers "popped" icons related to La Quinta to win various prizes, all while learning more about what the hotel had to offer.
Objectives:
- Engage consumers with the La Quinta brand.
- Drive new and repeat hotel bookings.
- Capture email addresses for future marketing messages.
Strategies:
- Utilize a third party technology partner to create a custom Flash-based online game.
- Team with SCA to handle all administrative services of the sweepstakes, including all required sweepstakes registration with states, administration and fulfillment of daily prizes.
- Use email and rich media banner ads to invite new and previous guests to play.
- Encourage consumers to visit each day to instantly win prizes such as free hotel nights, airline miles, rental cars, and music downloads.
Results:
- Over 300,000 consumers played La Quinta's "Bright Spot Challenge."
- "SCA handled the sweepstakes services very well," said a La Quinta representative.
