Conditional Rebate Contests

From the moment we wake up, we’re bombarded by noise from companies. From the branding on the shampoo bottle to the commercials on the late night news, people are constantly hearing and seeing messages. Remember that joy you felt as a child after a fresh snowfall; the possibility of not having to go to school, sledding, hot cocoa and more? As adults, those feelings turn into less positive feelings, such as having to deal with a slow commute and long lines at the gas station. Simpson Furniture helped bring the joy back into the snowy season, along with the help of SCA. Wanting to stand apart from other furniture retailers, Simpson Furniture told customers that any purchases they made on a specified date would be refunded in full if two inches or more of snow fell on January 14th. Thanks to SCA, Simpson Furniture wouldn’t be on the hook if it did snow on the 14th. So imagine both theirs and their customer’s joy when the sky dumped more than two inches on that day. For one day, snow was joyful again for those customers.

When Golfsmith was looking to find that joy that customers felt, they teamed up with Callaway and SCA Promotions.  Looking to increase the sales of new Callaway drivers, they joined Phil Mickelson’s effort to win the 2010 Masters tournament. If he won, every customer that purchased an eligible Callaway driver would receive their money back. Over $1 million worth of drivers were sold, as their new owners eagerly awaited the tournament. Mickelson won the tournament, and his third green jacket, as his fans celebrated not only his win, but their incoming refund for their Callaway drivers.

SCA is proud to help companies rise above the clutter with exciting contests that reward customers.
